Wedding Officiant
1. Do we need to get a marriage license before the ceremony?
Yes, Ohio requires couples to obtain a marriage license before the ceremony. You can get it from the county Probate Court. Both of you must appear in person, provide valid ID, and pay the required fee. The license is valid for 60 days.
2. Can you perform ceremonies for all types of weddings?
Yes, as a nondenominational officiant, I perform all types of ceremonies, including religious, secular, interfaith, and civil ceremonies. I work with each couple to create a personalized service that reflects their values and beliefs.
3. Do you officiate small or intimate weddings?
Absolutely! I love officiating small and intimate weddings. Whether it’s a courthouse, backyard, or any unique venue, I am more than happy to be part of your special day, no matter the size of the celebration.
4. How far in advance should we book you as our officiant?
I recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your date. That said, I can sometimes accommodate short-notice weddings, especially for smaller, more intimate ceremonies.
5. Can we write our own vows?
Of course! I encourage couples to write their own vows if that’s something they feel comfortable doing. If not, I can help provide suggestions or customize vows that reflect your relationship.
6. What areas in Ohio do you serve?
I officiate weddings across the state of Ohio. I am flexible with travel, so whether your wedding is in a big city or a more rural setting, I’ll be happy to travel to your chosen location.
7. How long does the ceremony usually last?
The length of the ceremony depends on what you want. Typically, ceremonies last between 15 to 30 minutes, but I can adjust this based on your preferences and the type of ceremony you envision.
8. Do you handle filing the marriage license after the ceremony?
Yes, after the ceremony, I will sign the marriage license and file it with the appropriate county office to ensure everything is legally completed.
9. Do you offer rehearsal services?
Yes, I can attend your rehearsal to make sure everyone knows their roles and feels confident about the ceremony flow. This is especially helpful for larger weddings or if you have specific rituals or processes in mind.
10. How much do you charge for officiating a wedding?
My fees depend on the location, size, and complexity of the ceremony. Please feel free to reach out for a custom quote based on your specific needs.
